Contractor will support implementation of Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007 for 150,000-seat managed hosting solution.
Job Description:
Synopsis: Candidate will have working knowledge of all core Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) features including instant messaging, presence, and remote access and federation configuration. He or she will also be familiar with a number of advanced features, including high availability , disaster recovery, Enterprise Voice, PBX integration, SIP trunking and/or third party audio, web, and video conferencing solutions and their interfaces to OCS.
Core Job Responsibilities:
• Applies knowledge and previous experience in Unified Communications areas to lead or assist with OCS requirement analysis, design and architecture in the planning stages of a project.
• Perform configuration, testing, and deployment of all OCS server roles and related technologies.
• Assist with migration of users in support of a fully managed hosted service offering.
• Contributes significantly in a research role, with some direct client interface, to the development, review and presentation of product capability, best practices, proposals, implementation and support services, project planning, and risk mitigation
• Presales: Participates in customer presentations and requirements gathering
Secondary Job Responsibilities:
• Stay current with new conferencing/collaboration technologies and architectures
• Review and analyze detailed project documentation and requirements documentation to ensure the solution meets clients’ needs.
• Analyze and interpret data captures/logs, process output, and technical information to perform troubleshooting of lab or production environments.
• Apply good time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex tasks at the same time
Required Skills:
• Ability to implement, and manage Microsoft OCS 2007, Live Communications Server 2003 (LCS), and Windows Server 2003.
• Has participated in one or more basic OCS 2007 consulting, implementation, and/or migration projects.
• Candidates should have a good technical background with 1+ years of Industry experience in Microsoft OCS 2007 or Microsoft LCS.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsofts messaging and collaboration products, including Exchange Unified Messaging.
• 1-2 years of direct client facing consulting experience
Desired Skills:
• A BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline and MCSE preferred
• Strong Technical background in the area of Microsoft infrastructure, networking, storage, and server design
• Experience with PBXs and other telecommunications provider solutions is desired
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve, identify alternative solutions, and communicate best practices
• Familiarity with OCS R2
• Strong research skills
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Good presentation and communications skills
• Good interpersonal skills in working with others
