Job Description • Migrates Oracle 9.x/ESRI ArcSDE 9.x (Sun Solaris 9.x with 6540, 3511, and ISCI storage) geodatabases to Oracle 11g/ArcGIS Server 9.x (RHEL 5.2 with EMC Fibre Channel/SATA storage) • Implements and administers Oracle 11g /ESRI ArcSDE geodatabases in development and production environments • Manages Oracle RAC cluster, failover, backup, and disaster recovery scenarios • Benchmarks and optimizes database configuration for high availability geospatial database performance • Monitors system resources and usage • Performs technical analysis relating to GIS database capacity planning, development, security, and maintenance • Utilizes best practices within ESRI System Design Strategies and technical documentation • Administers end-user roles and permissions for geodatabase access and editing • Administers tuning, compression, versioning/disconnected editing, and replication of geodatabases • Designs, implements, and migrates GIS/CAD databases from Oracle 11g to Oracle Spatial • Creates and maintains geodatabase support documentation • Assists with the installation, upgrade, support, and troubleshooting of geodatabase related software

 

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years experience in administering Oracle Databases in 9i - 11g

• Experience in managing Oracle databases with ESRI ArcSDE or ArcGIS Server

• Experience in Oracle Spatial migrations

• Prefer experience with Linear Referencing Systems and GIS transportation data models

• Prefer experience in Oracle Spatial implementations with ESRI GIS and Bentley Microstation
